Win10 backup skipped file?

Hi all

As per the title I am seeing a skipped file message in my Backup report....note I have replaced my 'name' for username ;)

Backup encountered a problem while backing up file C:\Users\username\Documents. Error(STATUS_WAIT_2 (0x80070002))

My Googling did not find a definitive statement of what & why I am seeing that exact report

I would appreciate any insights as to a resolution and FWIW my Documents folder is on the BackUp target drive

TIA :)

Do you recognise that file name? It looks to me to be something you’d no need a backup of.

Bear in mind the windows will have trouble backing up:
Open files
Unrecognised filetypes (it gets security conscious)
Some system files

It looks to me like your file is from the 3rd category.

Hi Phil

Thanks for your reply & insight.

I have specifically looked at that file location and bearing in mind I have my 'documents' on another internal drive i.e. not the default C drive location, the "Documents." file does not exist at the skipped file location.

So, by inference it seems that "Backup" is hard coded to look for that file & location and hence the Error (STATUS_WAIT_2....) report i.e. it waited and could not find it.
