I'd love to go back. We went on our first (and so far only) safari in June 2019 (winter season) for our silver wedding. South Africa was amazing. We stayed at Marataba and Madikwe wildlife reserves, both of which were certified malaria free. My wife (non-photographer) thought it was our best ever holiday, which was a result.

My two favourites have been a self-drive tour of Namibia twenty years ago which was simply amazing, and a guided safari in Kenya/Tanzania around several parks, which included the Great Migration. Another unforgettable holiday. So I totally agree @Honey Monster with your wife that these can hardly be bettered as holidays.
