Wireless flash triggers

Have been thinking of obtaining some PocketWizard flash triggers for use in a studio setting, until someone recommended Phottix Atlas ttriggers as a cheaper, but compatible, alternative.

However, I don't seem to be able to find anyone in the UK who happens to sell these. Anyone know anything about them, or if there is a supplier in the UK who stocks them?

Look miles better than the old one I had. Look like PWs and have a PC sync port for attaching to studio lights. Look spot on

I've had a look through those reviews and details Pat, and from what I have seen the Atlas will do exactly what I need from a trigger at a substantially lower cost than the PW.

However, I am struggling to source them anywhere in the UK, and am starting to think that perhaps they haven't been released here yet, or that they have run in to a patent wrangle with PW because of the similarity between the units.

Calumet sell then, they're around £85 per unit.....

As best I can tell after looking is that Calumet don't have them (or if they do, I have no idea what they are describing them as) and Phottix doesn't have an online shop on their website.

£150 for a transmitter + receiver... a lot of money

FYI, for the same money you can get a set of Skyports, which are great.

If you find you are really into strobes going forward, you can always upgrade to pocket wizards

Errrmm, yes it does. Just go to the 'Where to buy' link and then click on Phottix Store. It's really not hard to find!

Likewise if you'd been bothered to just Google 'Calumet Phottix' you would have found that they are listed in Calumet's latest trade magazine with a prod ref of CF0085.
