Word files

I have a new laptop with windows 7 on it. It came with a trial version of Office 2007 on it but we had bought a 2010 version. Thats fully installed but since removing the 2007 version I cant get word documents to open without going into into word then finding it.

right click on your file, open with, choose default prog, check the box click on word

What he said, by removing the older version after installer the newer one it sounds like its removed the file type associations.

Can't you select the file you want to open in explorer and then right click and from the menu select openwith, highlight word and make sure at the bottom it says always use this program or something like that is ticked and see if that works

yeah tried that but cant find where the 2010 version of word is located. Damn this new version.

it will be in prog files

right click on your word 2010 short cut go to properties and it will tell you where word is

According to this article from MS. Word 2010 should be in : C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office14
