Don't know if you forgot to sharpen them but they all look quite soft to me.

Good panning Effect, but agree with Robert, slightly oof or soft.
Nice set though

What lens was that with?

Nowing the track, i think those are heavily cropped? as the focal length on the exif is 280mm which is a tad short for Silverstone to get that close. That could explain the softness

A tad faster shutter for 3 and 4 would have given a more completely sharp all over bike finish, i.e the back's of the bikes are slightly blurr'd, i like the effect tbh, others wont.

trick conditions out there by the looks off all the threads i seen.

I'm only guessing, but I'd say Ian used a 70-200 with 1.4x teleconverter.
The softness may be due to the image compression when reducing down, 72k is rather small to keep the detail.

There are a couple of crackers there Ian, (y)

Correct Matt. I've linked the second and last ones to a higher res versions so you can see what that looks like.

Looks pin sharp to me from the two bigger ones you linked.

I had a quick mess around with the last one using your larger version and there's some good room for a bit of a crop and rotate (rotation to my usually universally condemned "too extreme angle" but I like it hehe).

Which corner(s) did you shoot these from?

Thanks Desantnik, though it's already been cropped and rotated though maybe not as extremely as you might have done! All but the first are from Bridge to Priory. The first is Woodcote.
