Scotland WWT Caerlaverock

Fancy a trip over the other side of the country for a couple of days and was thinking about a visit tp WWT Caerlaverock as I'm a WWT member.

Anyone been before ??? and are there any good places for an overnight stay, seems most are in Dumfries (Travelodge Premier Inn)

Been a few times.

There's a few places in and around Annan for overnight (or longer) stays.......

We stayed there on the reserve itself in Aug 2020 between lockdowns. Brilliant experience, especially after the gates have been closed for the day and you have the reserve to yourself. Strongly recommend.

Thanks guys, is there much variety of wildlife/birds this time of year as the sightings on their website does not give much info.

Usual suspects. We saw a Barn Owl patrolling in the evening most days. Had Badger coming up to the house

The Nesting Season at Caerlaverock (and recent sightings)

The nesting season is well underway and our site hosts a wide variety of resident and summer migrants raising chicks which will hopefully fledge in the coming weeks.

With a bit of luck, woodpeckers and red sqirrels as well....
