X100 or X-Pro1 ?

Ok, I suspect this has been asked and debated at length already but I've been planning to buy a Fuji X100 however I'm now being tempted towards a used X-Pro1 instead. I would value the quieter shutter and love the style of the X100 but like the versatility of the X-Pro1. This would be used as a more 'everyday' camera than my Nikon. So question to users of both .. which one would you generally recommend and why? Is there much difference in IQ? I can't stretch to an X100s I'm afraid. Is there any other model in the general used price ball park that I should be considering too?

There's something about the X-trans sensor in the X-Pro 1 and other interchangeable models which sets it apart from other cameras...the output just seems film like and high ISO noise just looks like grain. That said, the 23/2 lens on the X100 is very useful! I'd go for the X-Pro 1 and the 18/2 and 35/2.
 
Love my X100. In a bag and goes with me everywhere, every day. Small, light, quiet and inconspicuous. Great also to just have handy about the house for shots of the kids. Fantastic camera.
Also borrowed an X-pro1 for a bit at my bros wedding recently with a 50/1.4, i am now very seriously thinking of selling my D700 and getting one!
 
Currently have both and the xpro1 is winning so far. Bought the xpro last week.

Fuji have a great offer on at the moment with the xpro1. You get 2 free lenses if you buy the body, plus an extra £100 off if you trade in certain DSLR's.

I basicly just paid £400 for the xpro, 18mm and 27mm lenses after trading in a d5100 body.

I do love the x100, and the files are stunning, but the xpro just feels more substantial and the flexibility of being able to change lenses is a real plus. I haven't decided 100% yet, but I may sell the x100 and just keep the xpro, or maybe keep both lol.

The only downside I find with the xpro is it doesn't fit my hand quite as comfortably as the x100 does, but it's a minor point for such a great portable system.
 
Had the X100, then an Xpro and now have the X100T. Like the OP, Nikon is my main camera but like having something smaller too. The X100 did have its quirks and slow AF but was a dream camera. The Xpro with its 35mm was lovely too, although it is definitely not pocket sized(X100 is in a coat). Issue too is that you will keep 'needing' new lenses, 18mm nice for wide, 35mm great, then what about the flexibility of a zoom etc... X100t is certainly snappier and faster and just a joy to use.

Is the OVF/hybrid part of the appeal? if not, have you considered other Fuji models? The X-E2 is smaller and more compact then the -Pro1 as well as being a little more advanced internally.

If you're ok with a manufacturer direct refurb, the X-Pro1 can be found at £315 and the X-E2 at £360. Availability is variable, but both are regularly available on the Fuji refurb site.
 
Considered an X100 but went for the X-Pro1 instead since I couldn't accept the limitations of a fixed prime lens. Reconsidered when the supplementary lenses for the X100 were introduced but decided that they're too slow to put on and remove compared to the bayonet fitting of the lenses.

It's a small part of the appeal but one I could live without I'm sure. I've had a quick look at the X-E2, it did appeal, think I may need to have another, better look at it and consider it too.
Absolutely fine here with a refurb, or a well cared for used model of course, I'll keep a more regular check on the fuji site now.

There are refurbs available at the moment,plenty of the -E2s in both colours..
