Bought a Yashica ML 135 advertised with slow to operate aperture blades. The lens is in very good condition though and clicks and focuses well.
The advert was true, you can make a brew whilst they close
No real sign of oil, aperture works fine on the clicks. When looking in to the closed blades, it almost looks like one or two aren't perfectly flat - you can almost see a 'shadow' along one side of the blade of that makes sense. Hard to explain, I'll try to get a photo later on.
Anyway, my options.....
It's obviously fine to use on the Sony A7 anyway.
Can I remove the lever on the rear so it works on the Yashica the same way it does on the Sony. I know it won't stay wide open and close on shutter release but it would still be usable right?
I could send it away for repair but don't know the cost.....
I could try to strip it and repair myself. I have stripped a 50mm Yashica before and I made a good one of of two bad ones. I obviously didn't do anything with aperture blades though, I just swapped elements around.
Any experience or input please?
