My sister has just given me this to investigate. It is in pretty good nick apart from the flash screw in battery cover is missing. Don't know if it is working okay but judging by the condition it looks barely used.
Is this worth anything do you think??

Steve.

One sold on that well know auction site recently for £100, said to be in good condition. But as Nick says, put a film through it and join in the fun that is "film and conventional".

No idea how to use it but will have a play and see, what film should I get for it?

Steve.

There's a manual for it here http://www.cameramanuals.org/yashica_pdf/yashica_e-1.pdf
I would go for something reliable like Fuji Acros in b&w or Kodak Portra in colour. Before you go buying film you might want to check it over properly or let someone that knows film cameras have a quick look, just to check it out. If you're in London I can always give it the once over for you.

set it to b or t, fire shutter and check for fungus, then check apature works and shutter speeds seem ok
do that with the back open so you can look through it
