A pal of mine recently purchased a macro ring flash. Pictured below it's a Yungnuo YN-14EX unit, remarkably similar to the Canon version, except the price.

£69.99.

The build quality is superb, initial results are very good. Once we have some decent images I'll post them.

I had seen these on Ebay and had wondered how good they are as it appears to be a very good price, the only other way is the LED route and I gather they are not powerful enough.

These are taken in Program mode on a 5D3 full TTL setting. This an ornament from our lounge, 50mm tall and 65mm diameter.
