Yongnuo YN622C-TX + YN622C + Canon 430EX & Canon 550EX

I was hoping that with the YN622C-TX transmitter and YN622C Transceiver I would be able to control the manual output of the Canon flash from the camera mounted transmitter.
If I set the flash in manual mode I can change the flash output from the flash but not from the camera mounted transmitter.
It would appear that the manual control of the Yongnuo is not compatible my old Canon flash units.
If this is correct which model Yongnuo flash units would you recommend to use with the YN622C-TX transmitter bearing in mind I would like full manual control from the camera mounted transmitter.

P.S. the Yougnuo eu web site does not list the or offer any advice on the YN622C system or at least I can't find any.
Any advice would be most helpful.

Set the flash to ETTL and control manual output with the YN622c-TX

Remember ETTL isn't just an auto metering tool, it's the communication protocol too. The flash on Manual can't understand the signal to change the settings. The flash needs to be on ETTL to understand the instructions to change power.
