the dimensions of the bare bones case are as follows:

16.8 x 38.0 x 35.4 (cm)

so if you got it you would have to lie it on its side.

nah not looking to overclock, last time i done that i overclocked minimal amounts and had to replace my ram motherboard and cpu :(
 
i've put £100 aside this month, to go towards the PC next month (18th)
will let you know the specification closer to the date :)

Totally agree...

Upgraded my on board graphics to a 256Mb seperate card whilst upgrading to 3Gb RAM and is far superior. The graphics card is upgradable to 512Mb if I need to but at the moment I am happy.

You have not mentioned a graphics card and I would definately recommend one. I would choose this over upgrading the hard drive. You can get external USB2 HDD 500Gb for under £50 now so you could get one in the future once you fill up ya space.

In my current computer i have:

c: 31.7gb left of 74.5gb
d: 8.45gb left of 232gb
e: 133gb left of 149gb
f: 23.2gb left of 55gb
g: 8.86gb left of 134gb

so space isn't an issue
and i'm getting a NAS (if your realise wait.. you cant fit those drives into a micro atx case)
 
Well i got a new PC today!
My mum kindly put it on her credit card for me..
It's not a cube one as hoped however a little movement in my room and it fits nicely.

Acer M5100
AMD Phenom 9500 (2.2ghz)
2gb RAM
250gb HDD
9-in-1 Card Reader
8 USB ports
Geforce 8400 256mb GFX card
only let down - Windows Vista (however have applied a few speed tweaks and it is working very well :))
 
I'm just not too fond of it, find XP so much better
however can't be bothered to go back to XP. so tweaking vista and making it better.
 
im am sure soembody has mentioned it earlier, but if you are going for xp DO NOT get 4gig memmory, it will actuall slow it down.

xp can only hand 3.5 gig and if you have more it struggles to know what to do with the rest and ends up reading /writing to memmory multiple times and slows down.

get 3 gig instead

im on vista now with 2gb.
however the plan was 4gb with 1x1024 taken out.

I just think that it tried to focus more on the appearance of the OS than the functionality.
At the moment i have a problem with IE7.. it flashes when on facebook... lol... back to firefox anyway! lol.
