I chased this Bee around a public garden in Alloway for over an hour but every time I took the shot all I got was flower heads. Just would'nt sit still. On the occasion that I caught it - it was just taking off again

Good detail but a higher shutter speed would have meant a sharper image of the bee in the first one. Very nice though.

Well done done for getting it in flight at all.

Little tip for you. Rather than chase them I find it best to just sit quiet in a likely spot and let them come to you. Bit like fishing I suppose.
And a bit more dignified

yes thats what I do- sit and wait- and I always use a flash to freeze any motion

I work my way slowly towards them whilst looking for other bugs

Seriously though, that's what I used to do before adopting the sit and wait tactic. I get far more shots now.
