While looking at some YouTube stuff on macro photography I came across this piece of kit which rather intrigued me in it's apparent versatility. The daddy of the them all seems to be the Edelkrone:

which comes in at a whopping £167!
Of course there are infinitely cheaper versions around but on examination they don't all do quite the same things and obviously there is a massive quality differential. Has anyone used a device like this and has some comments to make?
