Portraits are not my usual thing but came across this from last year. Just cropped, sharpened and a wee bit of burn to darken the BG. Toyed with the idea of cloning out some of tha stray hairs around the face but decided to leave them, thought they looked quite natural. Interested in any thoughts or advice. Ta!

Sorted.

Hi Brash. On camera flash is difficult. She has lovely skin and eyes, but the flash is a bit harsh and the crop doesn't really work for me. I'd have liked to have seen the sunnies in the shot as well, since you can see the frame.

Agree with Photodiva, on camera flash is harsh for this kind of image, be nice to see one taken beside a window with softer directional light. Also it would be nice to see stronger catchlights in her eyes.

I used to put layers of rizla papers over my pop up flash years ago to soften it a bit

Thanks for the tips folks. Like I said, Portraits are not my thing but as I've just bought a 5D MK II, I might venture into that realm a bit more. Thanks again!(y)
