Film Challenge 37 "SHADOWS" - Discussion thread

Using up film hasn't been a problem lately with the number of mistakes that I've been making. Except when I'd knocked the multi switch and didn't notice that the counter wasn't going up till about 8 shots in. Shooting film is going to be a long and slow journey I think.

Film Challenge 37 "SHADOWS" - Discussion thread

Just posted my first entry to one of these challenges. I've been trying to get my flash working with my camera. Luckily, it did actually fire 2 out of the 16 attempts.

They look good to me Andy. Are these scans from the negatives or the prints? I'm only getting started with developing but plan to have a go at printing one day. I've also got a lot to learn but having a lot of fun doing so :)

Show us yer film shots then!

I've been lurking on this thread for ages without posting anything for ages. Here are 3 shots I took in London on Wednesday. They're taken on a Delta 400 film and developed using Rodinal which I've since found out may don't consider a good combination. Blackfriars Bridge by Bushtography, on...

    Critique Solent Sunrise

Agree with Graham on the first shot. I really like shots with this perspective. I'm also quite keep on the third shot. I think the bird could do with being just a bit lower.

    Ards Peninsula, Northern Ireland

I think this is a really nice shot, the colours/tones are great.

    Winter Wonderland

I think this is a nice shot. If it was one of mine, I'd try reducing the blue saturation in the sky top left because it's a little bit distracting.

    £10 ND1000 test! Southcoast Sunset

Looks very nice to me. Can't see signs of colour cast so looks like you got a good deal :)

OCA The Art of Photography Course Discussion - Part 2

I used Photoshop to do mine, Carol. I created a blank page the size and colour I wanted it. Then, from Lightroom, export the images you want and once in PS, drag the image to your page and resize. If you then select the image layer and click the FX button, you can start to add borders etc. I...

OCA The Art of Photography Course Discussion - Part 2

It's all done online with next day delivery. I think the delivery cost is something like £3.50, would need to check that though, so I always try and order as many as I can in one go.

OCA The Art of Photography Course Discussion - Part 2

Another vote for dscolour labs. I used to print my own but found I wasted so much on ink and paper when the heads would block up that it wasn't worth it for me. I've also taken to printing bigger -16x12. I could only do A4 at home. However, for TOAP, I submitted everything digitally. I'm...
