Has anyone ever been discouraged from bringing a camera on trips?

I have always considered worrying about such things a waste of valuable (and in my case, seriously limited in quantity) imagination

    CLIIK Insurers acquired by Hiscox

My house contents have been insured with Hiscox for several years. I like their extensive cover and their terms and conditions (for example there are no specific security requirements, as they trust their customers to take sensible precautions). I also like their customer service - calls are...

Sorry, I've been to "that" place again.

I did the whole of route 1 earlier in the year. I have to say that the part of the east coast you see from the ring road was not all that interesting photographically, although my view of that part of the journey may have been coloured by the uninteresting weather and light I encountered...

    Another successful tour of Iceland.

All great shots (shame about the halo in the Hvistserkur shot) . Knowing how hard you had to work for it, Aldeyerfoss is my favourite.

    Iceland - what filters?

My pleasure Chris. As well as filters, take something to cover them / clean them with if you are going anywhere near a waterfall. There will potentially be lots of spray, which may freeze on the filter. A handy tip I read somewhere was to use a clear shower cap to cover the lens to keep it dry...

    Iceland - what filters?

Polariser. 6 stop for the waterfalls. Soft grads are more useful than hard - not many straight horizons.

    Wild Vesturhorn

Fabulous shot of a beautiful location. Can't wait to visit there again in late Jan 2016.

Do you ever get those moments....

I just have the odd moment where my photographs DO come out the way I want them to....
