Yes,they certainly wouldn't handle the cold we get up here,I use a pair of fingerless wooly mits that have rubber bobbley bits on the palm side and keep my hands in coat pockets when not pressing the shutter button.

Had a look at these today,thought they were fairly flimsy,I did buy one of the hoody tops though,look like excellent value.

It's all about colour for me,I'm not a photographer though,I'm a wildlife enthusiast that owns a camera,I see in colour,I like to see the beautiful tones and shades of colour that make up a wildlife scene, plumage of birds in particular,capturing these are not easy as the light is seldom...

I bought a cheap one from Amazon to use with my 350D,works well.

+1 for DSTE,bought a pack of two from Amazon two years ago,zero problems, hold a charge as good as the canon one with my 70D.I use DSTE batteries in my other cameras,very pleased with them.
