went back to the shop today and asked them to try the lens on another body. it was focusing but very slowly and intermittently so they replaced the lens without question :-D
I did check the contacts and everything looked shiney and bright, both on the lens and camera so didn't try cleaning...
Oh dear :-( do shops have to warranty used goods I.e. fit for resale etc.
They are a very good local shop that I've used a few times, just wondering if I'm relying on their goodwill or if there's a couple of months warranty on shop sales?
I could do with some help with a 2nd hand lens I bought last weekend. Its a 17 to 40mm f4 L and its on a canon 30d body. I've taken about 20 to 30 photos with it over the last week and its worked fine, tried to use it this afternoon and it will not work when the lens is in AF mode. The camera...
Thanks for the comments, kind of what I was expecting. It didn't really look 'right' to me.
I'm trying to get a nice landscape image with the earthmoving plant as the main foreground subject. I can't get too close to them while they are working and they very rarely sit still, so i took this...

Would appreciate any comments / crit.

Thanks for the help guys, I've updated the version of DPP to 3.9.3 and installed raw codec and it's working great now.
Just need to find an version of EOS utility so I can update that too :-)
I've installed the version of DPP from the linked site and it will view jpegs OK, but won't preview the CR2 files from my old 40D. Do I need a raw plugin or something to view Canon RAW files?
cheers :-)
I've bought a 2nd hand canon body that came without the software discs. I'd like to get hold of DPP and EOS utility as I've used them before (I uninstalled the software when I sold my old camera) and I'm missing it as the software was useful.
I've looked on Canons website and there is a...
Like 'em :-D nice riding and nice photos.
no 2 and no 4 are great, just the fence at the bottom of no1 is covering the landing partly, but still a nice shot
