Photographic Art - a serious question

The final result is what I set out to achieve when I took the photo. Yes the fractalius filter has been used but it wasn't simply just that. The manipulation has completely transformed it into something interesting. You may not like it, that's your choice.

Photographic Art - a serious question

As discussed earlier in this thread, art is subjective and always stirs up interesting debates. Personally I think photography itself is generally art. Joe Bloggs with no interest in photography but takes photo's with his mobile all the time not so much but I wouldn't like to say at which point...

    Critique wanted

I think you're right, I'm a little too much towards the centre.

    Critique wanted

Yes just a single light. I must admit I didn't give any thought to what I was wearing.

Thank you, it was simply a black backdrop and single speed light at 2 O'clock set about 2ft above my head.

    Critique wanted

Hi, I'm looking for critique on this photo, no other people available at the time so I had to bite the bullet and use myself. I'm a big boy now so fire away, I'm all for learning.

How to clean your body, sensor and lens in one go

I've been wondering how to do that for a while. I've just given my old 50D a good thorough wash as per instructional video and now it's hanging on the washing line, face down of course to let any remaining moisture drip out. I'm hoping it will be dry by this evening so I can get some dust spot...

    Imperial Leisure

I was just wondering if anyone has been contacted by http://www.imperialleisure.com/. I was emailed recently by an employee of theirs saying how much they liked the photos on my website and would like me to send them about 3 images along with a few words about each one to use with the hashtag...

    Next Purchase, A Macro Lens.

I have the Sigma 105mm and have always loved it. Have a look at the macro section of my website, I think virtually all of those shots were taken with the Sigma and all on Canon bodies 400D, 50D and 70D. http://www.deannewcombephotography.co.uk/Projects/Macro/

Instagram - share your user name

I used to use Instagram a lot and had posted 1000's of photo's on there then but when Facebook bought I just deleted my account as I didn't like some of the changes to the t+c's. I've recently set up a new account but this one will just be phone photo's only, just a bit of fun really. My...

    Canon EOS 70D Owners Thread.

Alan, I moved from a 400D to a 50D and now to a 70D. I find the button layout so much more intuitive on the 50D and 70D compared to the 400D, I'm sure you will love it, enjoy.

Web hosting and domains - Who do you use?

I'm new here so I'll guess there is mention of this elsewhere but here's my choice. I use Smugmug for my website, the templates are really easy to use and customise. You can sell directly through the website too if you wish. An added bonus is that it doubles up as a back up of your images too...

    Hi, another newbie.

Hello, my name is Dean and I've just joined in the last day or so. I've had a nose around and so far it looks like a good and supportive community here so I thought I'd introduce myself. I'm based in UK in the city of Bath and, like everyone here, have a passion for photography. I've been a keen...
