Finally, I am about to join the D810 club. :banana: Apparently it will arrive tomorrow. I sold the D750, as I just couldn't gel with the body style. Great camera, but (IMHO) ergonomically wrong for me. So I used my D700, which is going nowhere until I saved a bit for the 810. Excited, me...

I'm interested. I'm awaiting delivery of a D810, and it will be the first DSLR which I intend to use for video. My D700 doesn't do it, and I didn't get on with the D750, so I upgraded ! At the moment I am reading as much as possible, and finding it quite confusing !

Tried 5 different lenses, so not a sticky aperture. Hadn't used the D700 for a while, maybe I should get it out more ! Any opinion on cleaning the body contacts?

Hi all, Experienced a problem today with my D700. 1st shot was OK, then all subsequent shots were overexposed by about 5 stops ! It also showed "Err" on the top display. I tried several lenses (both G and D type, with no difference) Came home, gave the contacts a quick wipe, and it seemed...

I'd go for a D700. Full frame, cracking camera, from £300 on fleabay, and a huge step up from a D90. You will have to pry my D700 out of my cold dead hands. It really is that good, especially for the silly money they can be picked up for now. Although, it isn't the natural successor to the D90...

Thanks for the link ! I realise it is a " preset " lens, but that doesn't bother me, as I intend to use it wide open anyway ! LOL At a push I might even stop it down to 2.8, but it's all about the swirl with this lens. In fact, I think I'll get a Nikon mount adapter too, and try it on the D 700.
