Good idea about flipping the image, I never thought about doing that - makes sense as we read left to right.
This is the first time I've picked up my camera in a couple of years so I'm rather proud of these shots.
Any c&c will be more than appreciated. All shot with a 50mm prime at f1.8
I also need to pick one of the shallow depth of field shots for a shallow depth of field competition so some help...

The black and white conversion was mainly due to the noise caused by using a high iso to get a decent shutter speed in poor light with a and slow lens at it's maximum focal length - 70-300mm f/4-5.6.
Plus in colour the bird just didn't stand out from the background.
