I spent ages trying to work out what best to do here, in the end i went for the RX100m3 and have no regrets at all! Looked and played with all sorts and came to the conclusion the cheaper compacts are not that much better that camera phones so i be as well stick with a phone, i didn't want to...

Sony RX100 m3 example RAW file please?

Thanks for the link redhed17, i did have a search but struggled hence my post, i can confirm that they open fine with PS6 and importing with ACR 8.8.0.397. LR4.4 does not recognise the files but i can easily save PSD from PS6 and open it fine in LR.

Sony RX100 m3 example RAW file please?

Hello all, can somebody please send me a RAW file from the Sony RX100 M3 so i can see how much hassle is involved in opening them? I use LR4.4 and PS6 with ACR 8.8.0.397 and would like to test this prior to spending the money, i want to shoot RAW but do not want a headache using them or having...

    Sony RX100

Only the mk3 shoots at 24mm, even with the savings on cost of mk1/2 I really don't believe I'd be happy limited to 28mm it just isn't wide enough.I would buy mk1 tomorrow if it had 24-70 f1.8-2.8

Compact choice, how hard is this?

right for anyone interested to know what i decided my decision is to go for the RX100 mk3, i know its alot of money but it ticks every box and most importantly the IQ is outstanding, i would be well p**sed if I bought something else then came home complaining its not that much better than my...

    Sony RX100

These shots like every other i can find on flickr and 500px really show the ability of this magically little camera, i think i have no choice but purchase the mk3

    Sony RX100

I keep reading just buy the MK1 unless you really need the viewfinder but for me the difference in focal length is the ONLY issue with MK1, it just isnt wide enough, MK2 the same then finally MK3 gets it right at 24mm but looses the other end down to 70mm. G7X 24-100mm perfect just i really want...

Compact choice, how hard is this?

I overlooked something along the way, my top choice except cost wise s the RX100 mk3 but just discovered the Canon G7X matches then betters it on certain things, ticks all my boxes and of course can be found for under £400. Not sure if it shoots too warm going by some of the example pics ive...

Thanks all for your input on this, im actually starting to crack up i think lol I can not find one with everything i want that does not cost the price of a DSLR body. Ive looked in detail at everything you have all suggested to me and now even more confused than before, i know i posted probably...

Compact choice, how hard is this?

Just looked through lots of shots from the TZ60 and LX7 on Flickr and 500px and they look rather impressive to be honest, not sure reading the reviews is the best plan here as they always say this ones is better than that at doing this etc. What they don't show is the end results which is what...

Compact choice, how hard is this?

Thanks for all the replies here, lots more reading to do but heading towards the TZ60 or TZ70, of course trying to compare them to the LX7. Regarding the Sony RX100, the original is not wide enough for me and the mk3 is the price of my old D90 body, way too much for a pocket sized camera, if...

Compact choice, how hard is this?

Hello all, Im looking for a pocket sized compact camera for travel and day to day in pocket, i visited Malta last year with lowest crime rates in the world and happily walked about with D7100, with 17-50 and a gorillapod hanging round my neck but feel i would NOT be happy doing this in other...
