    Canon EOS 70D Owners Thread.

I do understand what you mean by this, as RAW is supposed to be processed. However, this color shift is very strange. It feels like it does not have the "Canon colors" anymore, similar to when I used to use Canon camera and Olympus m4/3 at the same time. Last week I was using 70D along side 5D3...

    Canon EOS 70D Owners Thread.

I have just bought 70D a few weeks ago, and have done many shots with it. I'm quite impressed with how well it works. However, does anyone else notice that the colors of 70D RAW files in Lightroom 5.3 are a bit strange? The green and blue seem to be noticeably lighter and less saturated than...

    Replacing a 100-400mm L

Why are you not using your 100-400? Is it too big/heavy? Or is it not fast enough (You mentioned f4)? I am probably going to repeat what you already knew here. Except for 300 prime, I don't think you will find f4, but it is pretty much as big. Other options for better portability are the...

Tamron SP 24-70mm F/2.8 Di VC USD?

I recently purchased this Tamron ( for Canon ), and posted my unprofessional 100% crop about 1.5 months ago. At extreme corners, it will benefit from smaller aperture, but at f8 and smaller (for most landscape), the corners are quite sharp. I guess you will need to look at samples and decide for...

Which telephoto lens????? Canon V Tamron

This question was likely discussed many times already. For me, I picked the Tamron due to this reasons: - up to 300mm - full time MF - great VC - long warranty The non-L Canon and the Tamron are very close with perhaps a tiny edge toward Tamron. I think you will be satisfied with either...

Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 VC from Panamoz

That's a good point. I will have to go out and take more pictures to get a sense of whether AF is accurate for my use.

Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 VC from Panamoz

Alright, I managed to do some brick wall test. lol. I am no expert so don't expect it to be accurate. In any case, I'm pleased with the result. In the center, it is reasonably sharp even wide open. There is a lot of vignette wide open, but the sharpness is reasonable at the edge. Extreme...

Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 VC from Panamoz

My Tamron arrived this afternoon. The package was packed well, and arrived in great condition. I only managed to do a few quick test shots, and checked on camera LCD so far. My first impression is good. I can only compare it to my Tamron 17-50 VC, which I like. The 24-70 looks similar, but...

Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 VC from Panamoz

Great to hear that. I never use the Canon 24-105, so I wouldn't be able to compare. What made you switch to the Tamron? The obvious advantage is that it's f2.8. Do you find any differences in IQ, build, handling, AF speed, etc?

Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 VC from Panamoz

You are feeding my GAS here.. Now I'm looking at the Tamron 70-200. I checked it out when it released, but the price was still high. Panamoz really has a decent price now. It seems to get good reviews. However, there are some downside from what I read: 1) 200mm on the Tamron is a bit shorter...

Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 VC from Panamoz

Now that I have upgraded to Canon 5D3 from Canon 7D, I have been looking to find a standard zoom lens to go with it. I have been going back and forth between Canon 24-105mm f4 IS and Tamron 24-70mm f2.8 VC. I just noticed that the prices at Panamoz has come down, so I pulled the trigger on...

Canon lens dilemma - Telephoto for wildlife, advice needed!

Yes. Focal length is always quoted as real focal length. The 35mm-equivalent field of view on Canon APS-C cameras is always 1.6x quoted focal length. For birds and wildlife, you will always wish for longer focal length. However, if you want something relatively light-weighted, you will not...

Canon lens dilemma - Telephoto for wildlife, advice needed!

At around that budget, you may also want to look at used Canon 70-300 USM and Tamron 70-300 VC. They are longer, have better build, and have faster AF, all of which are good for wildlife. I still use my Tamron often when I don't want to carry heavier lenses.

Tamron sp 17-50 ? Any good??

I have the Tamron VC, and agree with Mike.P. I don't notice VC to be slow, but focus noise is noticeable. It is cheaper and sharp with great VC. I don't see any need to upgrade to Canon. Some people like the non-VC more. It is also a bit lighter, but probably harder to find now, so it just...

    6d or 5d mk2?

I have been checking HDEW price. If you have any use for the kit lens, you may want to buy the 6D kit. Extra £470 for a new 24-105L seems like a bargain. I wish they did the same for 5D3 kit.
