Taking camera gear abroad (Customs Question)

I wouldn't worry about it; perhaps just snap a few pictures of the serial numbers and attach them to an email sent to yourself, that way there would be a date stamp with when it was sent.

bizarre things you've received with camera Gear

I've got a set of towels off Canon when I bought a lens.

    Hong kong or tokyo

Lived in Hong Kong and been to both Seoul and Tokyo twice; loved them all. I would go to Tokyo if I was you - Hong Kong isn't a million miles away from Shanghai in terms of culture, and in most of the touristy places you will swear you are still back in mainland China. Seoul is great, but I feel...

Show us yer "Hooley'd" film shots then!

Satisfied with with my evenings efforts, I put a bit too much effort sliding the dark slide back into place only to push the film holder out the other side of the camera.

    Nikon Df....First images

A hands-on: Personally the aesthetics are a bit too chunky for my liking but I welcome any change from the normal drab DSLRs.

Large Format photography group - From "zero to hero!"

I don't know about others; sadly I've never seen any other LF cameras out in the real world (with the exception of once seeing a large 8x10 Wilderness). From what I've read on other forums ebonys are very well made so I would suspect the build quality betters my Chamonix. However I've never had...

Large Format photography group - From "zero to hero!"

I've got the Chamonix 45n-2, and would recommend it to anyone looking for a way into LF photography. It has enough wiggles and twists to keep me entertained, plus some of the carbon fibre stuff to keep the weight down (just under 1.4kg, I think) - although all the gear together still adds up.

Shipping kit in the aircraft hold

BA gives you 23kg, allowing you to take a carry on case and a separate laptop bag.

Pixopolitan - Anyone ever had an email from them?

Got one as well, the website doesn't seem to get much traffic so I just ignored it.

Show us yer film shots then!

I must have fallen into the internet mentality of only looking at things for a split second because I skimmed past this the first time :( It is a great photo and the b&w really adds to the mood.

    Gregory Crewdson

They had some of work at the White Cube in London a few years ago, and I could have spent all day just staring into the worlds he creates. I had planned to buy one of his books but after seeing the large prints, the photos in the book paled in comparison.

First time Night shots help please

I don't know if it is much help, but this is the chart I use for reciprocity failure with Ektar 100 (not 120 film but should be the same). I can't remember where I stumbled across the values online, but I made the chart and it has served me well. The correct metered time is on the left...

Wedding Photographers they get everywhere ;)

In Hong Kong I find they tend to stumble into my shots! Two separate wedding shoots in this one
