I think I'll just stick to Primes for now then and build my way up from the wide end of things. I've seen some awesome stuff from the 20mm and the 35mm, so those two will probably be on the list first, then maybe the 85mm, and 135mm later down the line. Sound like a plan?

Yeah I was thinking of getting maybe the 35 or 20mm, then I had a quick look at maybe the Sigma 70-200 2.8? Then maybe pick up the 85 later on? Does that sound like a bit more of a plan?

Basically I just got a D700 a few weeks ago and I love it. I'm looking to get rid of my 35-70mm though because it's not quite what I expected. I also have a 50mm f1.8. I'd love a 24/28-70mm and then a 70-200mm but don't really have the money so do you think I should just get primes? I'd love to...

I'd say about 3 feet? It could have been 1/2 or 1/4 on my flash but I can't remember off the top of my head haha.

Yeah I love mine even more on my D700 now :). And eddie is always up for shooting photos. Gives me loads of practice haha, and seeing as he's getting modelling work now it's even better. Just one SB-26 at 1/2 through a 24" softbox camera left. Then I think I was at f1.8, ISO 100, and 1/80

Just a nifty fifty at 1.8. Yeah I thought it was a bit too centred but I never take photos with the subject in the centre :P

Skaterham is horrible to shoot at. It's even worse now they have to foam pit haha. Could do with a little more light though.

Yeah I wish they'd be more like the D200 that I came from.

Thanks for the comments. Yeah I'd love to do some stuff like that timescapes stuff. That's where I kinda got the inspiration haha. I need some sort of power supply for the D700 and a massive memory card so I can shoot all night haha

Maybe this can go here? :/ So I got my D700 today and I'm sooo happy with it. Thought I'd properly test out the low light capabilities and do a quick timelapse. I'm yet to take and proper pictures with it, but believe me, they'll come. So here's a link to the video...

Hopefully I should be going to collect mine tomorrow and a new lens too. I'm very excited aswell :)

Tbh, I couldnt stop it down anymore, all my flashes were on full power and it was the middle of the day haha.
