    Stitching together double page spreads

I have a photobook where the pages were pretty much A4 size. I disassembled the book and scanned them, however some of the pages had a bit of discolouration towards the spine, and sometimes the colours weren't entirely consistent between scans. This is a problem when it comes to the double page...

Billingham bags - has anyone tried a Hadley Pro with Hadley Small inserts inside?

I'm a mirrorless guy, so my camera gear is on the smaller side. I'm interested in the Hadley Pro because I like the way it looks and the waterproofing out-of-the-box, but I've seen videos and such with people putting in cameras like the E-M5, and the mount of space left on top is a little...

    Driving in Asia

Went to Hong Kong and China back in the end of March. HK is fine for the most part. Taxies are a bit nuts, and you should never cross in the middle of the street if there's a car even remotely close to you, as cars simply honk but barely slow down. China is absolutely crazy though. People...

    Micro 4/3 lens options

There's also the new lenses; 25mm f/1.4 (I think that's the aperture), and the 12mm f/2.0, both of which have gotten good reviews (though very pricey - the 25mm is about £500 and the 12mm nearly £1k if I remember correctly). There's also the option of using old manual focus lenses via an...

For the 'younger' members of TP....

21 here. Only got into photography since the start of 2011, so still very much in the experimental phase.

    Olympus PEN EP-3

The E-P3 is pretty much everything I would ever want in m4/3 camera (only thing it's missing is a built-in viewfinder of some sort). But £700 for the body only? I could get a second hand 60D body for that.

Advice on a bridge camera for a newbie

Basically the graininess in the photo. Not really apparent when taking a photo in ideal conditions (i.e. very bright, sunny day etc.), but once you start taking shots indoors, photos will lose detail.

    SDHC Cards - Recommendation?

Maybe consider shooting RAW only. Unless you find yourself regularly having to give people (friends/family/clients) quick copies of your photos, I don't see the point in RAW+JPEG.

Wanting a high quality compact at £1000

The X100 looks incredibly sexy, but I just don't see the point in spending 1k on a camera with a fixed lens, when you could get something very decent like a 60D with its kit lens for the same price. The only real advantage is size, but interchangeable lenses as well as all the other perks of a...

    Panasonic GF3

Disgustingly bare. Stop with the touchscreen Panasonic, give me real buttons!!

    Just about decided on sx220

I'm assuming the zoom is a big factor when considering this camera? Otherwise a used S95 would cost roughly the same, but give better image quality.

Off to Hong Kong, now....what do I "need"? (+General Info)

They were handheld?! I tried to take a few night shots, but failed miserably. Were you propped up against anything at all? Next time I'm definitely gonna bring a monopod with me. I don't think I'd be comfortable setting up a tripod in the extremely busy streets of HK. But a monopod...

    Settings

Yeah, try and look for the Exif data of a photo. For example on Flickr, you can press Actions > View Exif info, and it'll tell you the settings used to take the photo. Of course, it won't tell you things like what filters they have installed. That just takes a bit of research into what each type...

digital bodies used with fd lenses?

I have an OM Zuiko 28mm f/2.8 and a Konica 40mm f/1.8 lens for my E-P1. If I'm being perfectly honest, I wouldn't say it's ideal. Getting sharp focus on moving objects requires a lot of practice. On my E-P1, using the manual focus assist is a bit annoying, as the little green box to indicate...

The new Panasonic G3 - your thoughts

I don't like how Panasonic keep forcing touchscreen down our throats. I had a play with the GF2 recently, and after about a minute of playing around with it, I realised it doesn't even have a mode dial! I'd much rather have physical buttons I can control "blind", without having to look at the...
