Couple of alternative architectural shots from Glasgow (well 3 really)

Thanks for the comments and feedback folks, on my phone so I can't really respond to them individually at the moment and I'm away from home so no pc for a week or so but they are all appreciated :)

Couple of alternative architectural shots from Glasgow (well 3 really)

Thanks for the kind words hunter :) Thanks Tom, I thought the second one might get a mixed review due to the angle but hey, if we all liked the same thing then life would get pretty boring ;)

Couple of alternative architectural shots from Glasgow (well 3 really)

Thanks for the comment Tina :) I'm not usually one for the weird angles like that in #2 but I was over to the side when I saw the woman at the top and liked the way all the lines were leading right to her. LOL, cheers Dougie, some of us have a decent eye...we just don't have a decent team or...

Couple of alternative architectural shots from Glasgow (well 3 really)

Hi all, been a while since I've been on here so I thought I'd post a few of my latest shots for C+C. Took a wander into Glasgow the other week to try to kick start the creativity since it's been lacking lately and it seemed to work (got me shooting more at least). Let me know your thoughts...

    Girl in the Red Dress

Sorry for the late reply, been having internet 'issues' for a while now but I've now got the TP iphone app so I should be able to keep a bit more up to date. I agree that she does look frozen and she was in fact frozen, took me ages to get the goosebumps semi-successfully hidden in photoshop...

    Advice Please...

I'd try merging 2 exposures for this type of thing. Take one shot without the flash and only the brake light and then another without the brake light and only the off camera flash and then merge them with layers and a mask in photoshop or whatever program you're using, can't really think of...

    Girl in the Red Dress

Appreciated Gary, I think it does make her stand out a wee bit more and I did feel that the light patches in the background of the original were possibly a bit of a distraction tbh. I think that the edit would probably work better if the vibrancy and/or saturation was left in the model though...

    Girl in the Red Dress

Thanks for the comment, didn't realise I had denied edits, changed it now so feel free to post what you've done :)

    Girl in the Red Dress

Took these last year as part of a college project, didn't go exactly to plan since it was absolutely baltic on the shoot and my poor model almost froze to death. The whole idea was to do a shoot in an old abandoned building with her in a more formal dress than this but after searching through...

    3 shots of my nephew, 2 b+w's 1 colour

Thanks for the advice Dean. I really wasn't that sure what my aperture setting was when I commented last night but it turns out after checking the exif data that it was at f8 for the first shot. I know what you mean about the nifty's poor focussing in low light though and tbh the light in the...

    3 shots of my nephew, 2 b+w's 1 colour

Thanks for the comments Loopy and sorry it's taken me so long to get back here, been having internet problems lately but hopefully they're sorted now. I'm not entirely sure what happened with the focus in the first shot, they were all shot with the nifty fifty and if I remember right it was...

A Self Portrait - Dont Laugh lol

Think I'd agree with The23rdman, a wee tweaked curves adjustment layer to bring back some contrast and it would be absolutely fine. The lighting looks good, just lacking a bit of contrast for me and I'm not sure if the sparkly effect on the background suits the subject but that's just a personal...

    Polo Mints

Hi Dave I love the concept though I think that it might look better with an unopened pack of polo's as opposed to an open pack, especially from an advertising image point of view. The shot has been well executed and the lighting is spot on, as someone said earlier you can just see the break in...

    3 shots of my nephew, 2 b+w's 1 colour

Did my first paid shoot last weekend albeit for my sister in law. Thought I'd post some of the shots that I was most happy with for some critique as people photography isn't really my thing and I'm keen to hear other's opinions on them. This is my nephew Innes, he's a bit of a handful at times...
