Heat.

Back home after a few days away and arrived yesterday evening to black skies and the sound of thunder. Unfortunately, the cells were about 10 miles to the east.:(

Lovely day today with even better in prospect. Maybe we've turned the corner re all that rain.

I'm back down in Kent now for a while and it's 13°-C at the moment and quite a pleasant morning with a gentle breeze and a partly cloudy sky.
You're fortunate to be in the SW > NE track of thunderstorms out of France . I've seen some spectacular photos from Kent of lightning over the Channel. It would be worth getting to know how to take photos of it if you don't already know.

Thanks for that John, yes I do know how to snap those sort of pic's but to be perfectly honest I'm not that interested in that type of photography.

Yesterday was one of those murky, grey kind of days when the weather really didn't seem to know what it was doing. I cut the grass out back early evening, not a job of a few minutes and the clouds did clear for a while and I worked up a sweat. It stayed dry though. I checked for thunder, there was none here but it did get quite close, just north of Glasgow and also, down Dumfries way.

It's currently dry, although there is a dampness to everything, not much wind and 13°C.

Today's job, fenceposts.

Warm on the course this morning but did have to redon the fleece for tea after the round.

At least it was an easy copy and paste.

Today has been a mixed bag, dull and grey this morning but dry. This afternoon and this evening have turned out nice though, currently 14°C at just after 7pm. :$

10°-C here at the moment with a gentle breeze and no rain but heavily overcast

Lovely bright sunny morning here, 12°-C at the moment and hardly any wind.

It's been lovely here so far. A little rain last night but all cleared up for today.

Had a decent day yesterday, it stayed dry until about 8pm and then we got a very light rain which lasted off and on overnight. It's warming up though, found the duvet on the floor this morning.

Currently it's a bit dull and grey, dry though and 14°C.

Very warm and sunny down here now 17º-C and not a trace of wind.

Been a lovely day and now, a gorgeous evening. We got to 19°C earlier, that will do. Currently dry, bright and now 17°C.

Can't wait for the thunderstorms.

Had an away day golfing today - stinking hot on the course we were at in Mid Devon!

The storm earlier this year, brought down one of our fences, as some of you already know. I've not been able to get at it, due to the weather but it's really come on this week. All my own work too, 540kg of postcrete in there.

I'm standing in our garden, taking the pic, beyond the retainer, bottom left is the next street, built long before our property.

As you can see too, a beautiful evening.

I've only built a few fences and there's a nice feeling of satisfaction afterwards. Are you using nails or screws?

My favourite build was a large log storage unit with doors. I learned how to use the basics of FreeCAD and designed the whole thing on there to minimise waste. We hadn't long finished watching Game of Thrones, so I used my Dremel and flame to carve and burn a small "Winter is Coming" sign on it! lol

I'm currently contemplating building a new shed from scratch, a proper custom and sturdy one as opposed to the cheap Billy O one I bought some time ago and may not last many more winters. I've had to seal it up good to stop wasps getting in and making a nest, but the flip side is that there's no airflow and condensation is terrible.

My first attempt at a fence on my own. I had help last year to strengthen and straighten one 90 degrees to this one. I will be using screws. (y)

I may well build a shed with the old fence posts from this one, it's only below the ground line that they were affected and rotten, the remaining 6 feet or so is good wood. I may recycle it into something.

I know, I was told a bag and a half, so 30kg per post. The holes ended up about a foot across and 2.5 feet deep and actually took 3 bags to brim, even with the post in. There are 9 posts, with 60kg each.

I'm not sure if I've over engineered the thing, I tend to do that but at least the posts shouldn't go anywhere.

Screws here as well! I often prefer to work on the slats after they've been in the rain and still retaining a little moisture as it saves splitting if working near the very edges. Nothing wrong with being overengineered, just ask SAAB of old! lol

2 days of what I call warm , Love it , Sadly the forcaster said it won't last .Boo

Beautiful sunny morning down here, 16°-C at the moment with only a light breeze.

25ºC today. It was the same yesterday so this morning I was weeding the front at 7.45am. Mowed front and back lawns as soon as the grass was dry.

I'm back in London again at the moment but I'm told it's 15°-C at the moment back down in Kent and a lovely bright morning with a slight breeze.

"I was along the South Bank at 05-30 this morning and it was beautiful. Lovely sunny morning with hardly any wind. I even managed to get a free breakfast from one of the stall holders who was setting up" :)

A lovely day here, although I'm not long up as the Aurora kept me busy last night. Anyway, 21°C at just before midday.

Nice and warm here, warm enough to make it too hot inside riding gear while stopped in traffic!

I'm still in London and out along the South Bank again. It's 14°-C here at the moment with a lovely sunny sky and hardly any wind. "Beautiful". :)

Some heavy looking clouds about today but the sun seems to be burning through them, it's quite warm, dry bright but almost solid cloud cover, odd.

Currently 18°.

Aye, it's felt threatening all day and I wanted to do some engine maintenance outside, but I was worried it was going to rain. Ended up deciding to take a chance and within five minutes into my journey I started to see a few drops of rain. Typical! Thankfully that was all there was and turned out fine. Phew!

Just back from the river, been out all afternoon. Had a heavy but short shower, which almost forced me to pack up but I could see it was just one big, heavy cloud above me, all around it was bright. I heard a rumble of thunder, then about 10 minutes later, it started to thunder propely and it was that continous, rumbly stuff but it stayed dry where I was. The thunder lasted about 30 minutes.

Looking very threatening on the drive home but all quiet at the moment. Currently 18°C.
