i hope this helps

F stop - F6.3

focal length - 600mm

shutter - 1/320 sec

ISO - 640
I think the shutter is quite slow and might explain why the seagull is not sharper.
I took this at 1/400 and
a) there were a lot of photos that were blurry
b) I tried to lean on something to overcome the shake
c) It was very dark so I had to.

Now your camera is old so it can't give you decent photos with the same ISOs as mine but you can probably get to 1600 or 3200 without problems see this review

Also you can buy DXO to get rid of noise.
So try with higher shutter speeds and if you can't support yourself. Also - and I know this is not easy - get closer.
