The other day having got my chainsaw to work I wanted to try it on a stump from the garden I removed a few days before. So I cut it in half and the stump pattern showed. A little bit with the electic sander (could do more sanding) . then a little bit of light oil on the face of the stump and got this. needs a bit more sanding down

I have a similar slab of olive wood with a recess routed into the back so a clock mechanism sits neatly behind it.
