Ah methinks the ancient mariner is referring to Optics Pro. I have Had Capture One for a month or so and haven't fully exploited it but I was drawn by it's ability to extract more subtle details. I have got colours and tones from C1 that I can't get from OP or ACR. If you haven't already do a trial, they give 3 months if I remember correctly. It's very expensive to buy but if you are able to get hold of an earlier version (6 I think) which was given away free you can upgrade it quite cheaply.
Oops. That was an embarrassing failure to read properly.
I have Capture One as a free download for a Sony camera but haven't tried it yet.
I gave it a try and then brought the pro version (£21, cant beat that).
Im a heavy user of LR, been using it for years, and every now and then i give CO a go. I now feel its matured enough to give LR a good run for its money, so for my a6000 files ill only use CO. Its a bit of an uphill struggle coming form LR, as its completely different but seems similar if that makes sense.
So far i feel the output is visibly better from CO, although its harder work getting it at the moment.
