Looking for ideas of places to shoot some family shots near Nottingham. Shoot will take place in March / April so is there anywhere that will be full of colourful daffs or blossom around that time? I think it will be a bit too early for bluebells.

Was supposed to be getting a pro to do the shoot for us but they all seem too expensive so it has fallen to me to take some shots with the kids and my sisters family including taking shots on the tripod with a remote release! Could end up being a bit of fun!!

You could try Calke Abbey in Ticknall near Melbourne. A bit over to the West and falls into the South Derbyshire area.

Have a look at Newstead Abbey; 12 miles north of Nottingham on the A60.

It's about 40 minutes north of Nottingham but how about Clumber park, there's a variety of different settings available, buildings, fields, woods etc
