Recommendations for External Hard Drive, to use for direct editing photos & videos with an Apple iMac

The Samsung T1 is a very fast SSD I us it to great effect

I just refreshed mine and have chosen Western Digital since many
applications require extended "scratch" disk room to operate and in
this is as important as proper RAM. I opted for 4x 3TB & 4x 5TB for
the TimeMachine disk array as newer capacities and prices are very
affordable nowadays.

The Western Digital external drives are really good. I use one at home and have a few at work for backups.
