Whilst working from home I regularly see the kites circling above the gardens looking for prey. In the last couple of days I've kept my D850 set up with the 200-500 F/5.6 near to hand. Every time I see them I grab the camera and try for a shot or two. Typically, now I'm waiting for them the weather is sh!te and the sky is grey. Oh... and the kites cleared off.
Today I saw them but they were around 50-100 yards away and I ran out to try a couple of shots. The lens was at full stretch and wide open, hand-held and struggling.
Out of 13 shots taken I ended up with the following grainy images that took a rake of rescuing in LR.
I know they are way off your usual quality but I'm quite pleased with my first attempt.
