Honeybee and a bluebottle

Very nice - shows why you need ivy - btw have you got any ivy bees where you are?

My Virginia creeper ( call it what you will) berries get stripped by wasps, I've never seen a bee near them.

How odd Chris i always thought they both liked similar things
Bees generally go for pollen, wasps meat, and later in the year berries.

Wasps do go for nectar - but the peak of the population is quite late in the year.
I find them on my ivy.
Wasps strip the berries here, before they have even ripened.
Greedy guts

I still have a garden full of sunflowers, still loaded with pollen.
And no wasps.
Maybe I just have a lot of bees, rather than wasps
