Answered Intermittent alerts

I don't always get an alert for threads I follow, even though I make sure that I go the relevant thread every time I do get an alert. The problems affects several threads and happens randomly, it seems.
Refers to the on-site alert, don't do email alerts...

This has been reported before and I have seen it too, I have never got to the bottom of what exactly is going on and it is unlikely that it would be something that we could fix even if we knew the cause, sorry.

What I find helps is to regularly mark all forums as read, I tend to do it daily and it makes a difference but isn't perfect.

Thanks, @sirch - I had a feeling it was a known issue and not one just I am experiencing. Weird thing with IT, sometimes it's the small but none the less irritating things that are the most difficult to get to the bottom of.
I'll do the read the forums thing, as you suggest and see if that helps. Fortunately, I'm not following more threads than my old brain can manage to remember!
