I thought it might beFab stuff - shot two was on my list
Yes, having the rods in red, rather than the bare metal of steam locos, does work well.First shot of the connecting rod is brilliant. Viewed full screen it really pops. Both from the colour of the red and the focus on the nut with the beautiful fall off of focus through the frame.
Very nice!
Cheers Allan, I did try to get a few shots that fitted that background. She's actually from a game called Genshin Impact.Nice pics cosplay shot is really good works with the BG as you say
The first shot of the connecting rods and the one of the shackles work for me.
CheersThat's a lot of connections and any one of the pictures could fill the brief very well, but I think you chose the correct one for the headliner.
Interesting, I think that was my 4th choice of the 4 posted.Image 2 for me as well, all nice shots.
Thanks HelenSome great images. The red stands out really well against the background. I'm with you on the chosen shot with a nice dof.
Nice set, I like your chosen image.
Another vote for #2 then. What draws you to it?Good set with #1 followed closely by #2 for me. As others said the contrast between the red and black really makes it pop
ThanksNice set. #1 for me too
Cheers Roger. I must say the G31 is years ahead of the old G6 I used to use.Different take on the theme, which I always like. Amazing how good cameras on phones have become.
The Alfreds would have been Saxon BronzeGood shot and a good choice for the theme, any idea what beer was in them?
Thanks AllanGood to see something different
Thanks Roger. I was aiming for a shot that would give me leading lines and the ability to place the loco on a 3rd.Like the way the rails lead you into the image, good composition.
I know what you mean, but leaving the platform in place the photo at a station.I like that a lot Tim, although may have cropped out the platform in the bottom left, but then you'd have lost some of the track.
I can't remember what I did with that processing. I really should make notesCatching up. Two good images Tim.
Liquid - I'd be more interested in seeing what's inside, I have to say...
Distant - this is a great shot, the processing really makes it pop
Ta HelenLiquid: great idea, made me smile. The colours really make it.
Distant: before reading your description I thought the image looked like some old ones I have... well processed and composed.
Just 9 gallon kegs, but still heavy enough when you have to shift them vertically about 4' above the ground on your own.The barrels took me back to my Welsh Brewers days, 22 gallon tubs by the look of it. Heavy when full.
Thanks. Whilst I don't usually do 'colour pop', I felt that it was appropriate here to contrast the greys of Oppenheimer against the pinks of Barbie.Good portrait, like the positioning of the light in the BG. The desaturated look of the BG makes the subject really pop.
Thanks Helen.So cute!
Cheers Kell. He seemed to be pretty popular performing on the Steam Stage at fantasy Forest this year.nice capture Tim.
I liked him - Chap Hop I think he used to call his style.
Thanks Bill. Yes, that is an interesting readA really good shot Tim. Your commentary really helps with the context. I found a really interesting article about it on this Wikipedia page: LINK
