I have just finished editing this film for a surf company here in Mui ne. It showcases Win, a Vietnamese kitesurfer who grew up in a small fishing village here called Mui ne. He has just been signed for a major kitesurfing brand and will start competing next year.

It was shot using a canon 7d, various lenses and the timelapse was made using a Gopro hero 2.

Hope you enjoy.

Hey Grahame - That's really good! Love the pace. I must get a go pro to go along with my kit, even if just for the time lapse's. Must say though, I wouldn't fancy going out in those choppy seas with a kite, especially with all those rocks haha! Mental!

Good work!

Gopros really are so versatile, I have 4 of them now and for timelapses they are so good to use. The new black hero 3 has some amazing upgrades and now shots at 4k although only 15fps. Foe the cost they are a must have in your aersenal.

[VIMEO]https://vimeo.com/62404085[/VIMEO][... feel of it, and some great footage in there.

Really nice video, the opening shots were quite good and vibrant but felt the Kitesurfing action let it down a little imo. Liked the wide shots from distance, but would have been nice for you to get right up to the action with a wide angle lens maybe?

Overall though I enjoyed it, voice overs were nice.

I was shooting mainly from distance with either a 70-200 and a 2x extender. A water housing is on the cards once some money comes back in and I look forward to getting out there in the waves for some close up action.

Excellent nice......i have always wanted to try the teleconverter on my 70-200 and watching your films has helped to make my mind up

very good video some great stuff in there
was that you in control of the heli with go pro
just ordered a quad copter
If you don't mine a ? what setting did you use for the time lapse I want to do some time lapse with my hero black edition but not sure on time for each shot
thank you in advance

For the timelapse I take a shot every 10 sec and then load it into after effects and build the timelapse sequence inside of that as you can have more control over it than prem pro.

It was the time shot interval most interested
But suppose it depends on what you shooting

If Im shooting a landscape timelapse the fastest I would set the camera to shoot is every 10 sec all the way through to every 1 min Depending on how long I was going to shoot for. For faster action, e.g. a timelapse from a moving vehicle, I would shoot every 2-5 seconds. For timelapse with a DSLR download Magic Lantern firmware which opens up a whole new range of options if you shoot on Canon from an inbuilt intervalometer to bulb ramping for the sunset to dust shoots. Its not tested firmware and is installed at the owners risk but I have had no problems running both the 550d and the 7d version of it but be careful to install it exactly as it says on the website to avoid camera freeze and overheating.

yeah looked at the magic lantern stuff but as I have a new 7d also a 5dMkII that a bout 18 months old thought about it but Ill use my go pro
was thinking on sunrise sunset time lapse as it over fairly quickly one ever 2 -5 secs ?
