Nikon D750 & D780

Can't wait to see what you do with it! Did you buy new?

No pressure hey lol. Saw one at MPB, £200 cheaper than new but at least if not fully happy I have 7 days to return. Strangely, from my quartet of lenses now, only one was bought new.

I couldn't resist one of those masturbation shots lol

NT property with a room set up for the 'soldiers return' and no one around except the ghosts... Quick snap taken with the 50mm f1.4 (at 1.8) on the D750.

Nice shot with nice light and fitting processing. Shame you clipped the stuff on the bed.

Nice lineup. I've recently been considering selling the 24-70mm to fund a 35mm, 50mm and 85mm. I reckon I could just about get all 3 f1.8's used for the price of the 24-70mm.

That's some collection, enjoy!

I've been reading about the 58mm over the past couple of days... looks a fantastic lens, think I may start saving :)

My least used really but I do like it for studio stuff for flexibility with fast moving kids. I did consider chopping in and just get an f4 version but it's not really going to free up that much so serves as a great back up too. For the odd wedding, AF is superb for the evening stuff. It also serves as my landscape lens if I ever do any of that.

It certainly gets mixed reviews. Just messing in the garden and from the back of the camera, looks great. AF kept up with the little one (gets bad rep for AF speed) and the MA seems to be spot on, looks sharp where it needs to be. Very happy. It is a lot lighter than you'd expect for the premium prime in the range, hope it's not made of the same chocolate as the camera.

Need to work on that bonus now for a 105 And really, that is enough for me (maybe a 24 1.8 )

A beautiful sight!

Since the last LR update the crashes have finally stopped. Now I'm getting the Nik Efex dialogue box cropping up in PS on launch and can't close down, very odd. Anyone had this, know a fix?

Have you tried to uninstall and then reinstall nik?

Not put anything up for a long time, but I've bought a sigma 35mm 1.4 ART from Justin (JJ!). I already had the 50mm 1.4 ART and I really like it but sometime the 50mm felt a bit tightly framed, I think the 35mm should feel a bit more versatile. So far I've really enjoy the 35mm as much as the 50mm. They are both super sharp wide open and focus spot on after a little bit of calibration with the dock.

I was sending a few prints to my family and realized I had nothing with myself since last summer. So i asked my girlfriend to take the camera and shot away! So enjoy seeing my face, first time ever i put it on the forum. I usually hide it behind the viewfinder...

Nice family pics. That lens renders lovely, is that the 35mm or 50mm?

35 Mr Snerkler, it says it at the top and bottom of the page. (just saying)

Just a heads up for anyone interested in the 24-85 VR zoom
Currys currently have them on offer for £284.

Lol, I missed the bottom bit tbh. In my defence re the top bit he did say he'd bought the 35mm and already had the 50mm but didn't say which those pics were with (unless I've missed it again, and of course discounting the sentence at the bottom that says all shot with the 35mm  )

You should get one ;)

So we bought a new horse after the heartache of last time so expect to see lots of pics of the new lad over the summer! In the mean time we tagged along with a friend to a bit of entry level dressage!

Not taken any pics for weeks apart from friends wedding so was nice to get back out with the camera.

Wow, nice. Love the colours.

Do you tweak in LR or are these straight out of the camera?

Thanks

Nice pics. Light's great in the first, subject really pops.

Ok, am i being silly here...

I was under the impression i could set auto iso and also set a min shutter speed...

for example max ISO 12800 and a min shutter of 250.

However, when set and in manual or aperture priority its not following the these max and min settings... why?

Tweaked in light room. Been setting up some presets with varying results... some go straight to the scrap heap!

Ahh thanks, I'm new to LR so it's all very experimental!

Oh and these were tweaked from Jpeg and not raw as forgot to take new cards with me and had wedding pics loaded on to these lol

You can set min shutter speed in auto ISO, you can set it to a specific value or auto which chooses a min of 1/focal length (although you can fine tune this auto setting). However, if you're in a scenario where you're above max ISO then it will reduce shutter speed to give the correct exposure and override your min shutter speed. In manual mode min shutter speed is irrelevant as manual should not move from the shutter speed (and aperture) you dial in. I.e. In manual the camera should not move from the aperture and shutter you dial in period.

Silly question but have you turned on Auto ISO? Not just set the parameters. You'll also need to turn it so it's auto ISO and set it to 50/100 or as low as you want as that'll be the lowest ISO it'll use.

Welcome to the constant tweaking and getting lost up your backside own preset club. I thought I'd cracked one the other night but in flat light it looks pants! Moral of the story: simple usually works best, but once a tweaker...
