(The OM-1 is a full frame manual exposer film camera)
As most people dont need all the bells and whistles of new models why not pick up an Em5 and a good lens as j am sure there will be some great offers now the Em5 II is coming out. Also a used traded body from somewhere like wex with a 12 month warranty could be an option?
Almost pushed the buy button on the OM-5 then looked at the OM-1?
Is the OM-1 really worth approx £400 extra, as I have no lens yet perhaps I should go for the 0M-5 and buy a quality landscape lens.
Any views, they both feel good to handle for me.
Thank you,
Trevor

I use the E-M1 with a 12-40 f2.8 for landscapes now. It has weather sealing and the controls are well layed out. I havent had the 12-40 long I was using my 4/3 12-60 with an adapter for about 6 months.
I am not sure what improvement the E-M5 mkii will be though. I have an E-M5 which I like but for landscapes I will using the E-M1.
My question is, why do you fit a screen protector?
Thank you Alf,
Learning more each day, appreciated.
Yes. But why do people feel they need one?
I've never had screen damage yet. And I'm wondering if I need this.
But nobody has said they've damaged their screen yet. So either people with "awesome" screen protectors are those over protective types. Or the opposite, who expect real damage as their camera gets bashed about.
Thanks. So you don't generally use "protection".
Touchscreen. Olympus SCP. good point.
Just a minute! People put those protectors on their smart phone screens. So they should work somehow with touchscreens.
Here are some shots taken with the E-M1 and the 4/3 12-60 f2.8-4 which is a great lens.

The 12-40 is regaurded as being sharper.
Great photos indeed Alf, looks a nice lens, I'll put it on the list.
Thanks again,
When you get home and see your lcd screen has a scratch on it, you will say to yourself, " I wish I had fitted a good screen protector"My question is, why do you fit a screen protector?
