This is probably my favourite this year (technically captive as it was taken in a butterfly house)

Great shots peps. Chris your one is awesome, you snapped it just at the right moment and you didn't bugger up the exposure either ;)

One of my favs from the caged world taken back in January, I didn't get out much this year to zoos and the like unfortunately.

Well to my shame I have not done as much Wildlife stuff this year as I would have liked, need to sort that and get back to doing some :) anyway this is one that I like, so will add it :)

Some great shots here, people. Keep 'em coming

I can't decide between these two:
The Cheetah is a cracking pose Fi, although looks a tad over saturated to me
It has to be the lion for his expression (y)

Does this photo count?

:)
Of course it does Robily (y)

There are some great examples here Keep them coming people (y)

Those are some great big cat shots! Where, in your opinion, is the best place to photograph them?

I love Whipsnade, Marwell is good too.
And some of the "big cat days" that get advertised around the country are
well worth a vist, as you can get up close and personal.
but they do tend to be about £100 / day

Hopefully we will catch up at some point next year.
There is a Whipsnade meet on 14th Jan if you are free?

And I suppose this actually was a close second

Most 'different' of the year.

I am loving the Zebra from Nathalie, i have been trying to get something like that for a while now.

Stepping away from the big cats that i normally photograph i'll say that this is my pick for 2011.

This young gorilla dived in to a bigger gorilla's pile of food and legged it with a few bits. The look on it's face was of worry as the larger gorilla voice it's disapproval!

I think I will go with this one.
