17-55mm F/2.8 IS closely followed by 70-200mm F/4 IS on a 7D. I use the 17-55 for most things indoor, and the 70-200mm for most things outdoor. If I had to choose a single lens it would be a 17-200mm F/2.8 IS, but unfortunately Canon have not relaeased that yet.

How did you find that out?

In LR2 Library Module

"\" key to show Library Filter. All my 2009 pictures are in a folder hierarchy to make backup/archive easier. So, select 2009 in folder tree and then under Metadata>Lens it shows me all the lenses used and the number of images.

My Sigma 150 2.8 is used most, and not just for macro work. I think it is a great all rounder. Next would be my 85 1.4 then my 50 1.4 but coming up on the outside is my more recently acquired 11-16.
