Tamron 18_400

That's a heck of a zoom range! Will definitely be interesting to see how it performs - could be one lens for all occasions for a lot of folk if it's any good...

Impressive that they've kept the long end at f5.6, shame it's not 16mm at the wide end I'd much rather lose 50mm off the length instead but it doesn't seem to be the way with super zooms!

I know we are a minority but m4/3 would have been nice.

Interesting review. I can't quite work out the sharpness though; is it AS bad as is claimed, at 400mm I wonder? I was tempted initially to forgo my FZ1000 and pair this lens with an EOS 100D or 760D. Now not so sure though. Look forward to somebody giving their input. Currently I don't think, judging by the review, it would give as good images as my FZ1000 (even accounting for the smaller sensor in the fz1000)

It sounded a bit negative didn't it. Of course there will be compromises, but without full size pictures it's hard to to know what to think, reading Dustin abbots website he is due a copy in 2-3 weeks, his reviews have always been great and very informative.

Wait till some decent reviewers get hold of it. It's more difficult to create a good performing lens with that range for a big sensor vs a 1" or smaller.
