    Autumn colour Derwent water

Up near 'Pike Island' down at the Manesty end I see Alf. Love the colour. Dont look for Pike Island on a map, its my own name, caught first ever Pike when I was about 11 when staying at what was Low Manesty then.

My shed makes an excellent backdrop

Good job the shed is not painted a bright colour, it works well as it is.

    Practice makes perfect.

Well a report back, all went well, even after a very long lay off, very much just went to plan. 4 strips of negatives all dry and trimmed up, ready to scan over the weekend. I have proven I can develop my own film and that my new to me ME Super has no light leaks.

    Practice makes perfect.

Last night I got some old spoiled film out and my developing tank. Sat with eyes closed and practiced the load up procedure before I have a run at the real thing. Last time I loaded a tank was 1998! So thought a practice was called for, but as it turned out, its like riding a bike, got on and a...

I was a lucky recipient of a Pentax ME and lenses this weekend

I must add, really enjoyed using the ME, it was very pleasant to use. Not sure if it equal to the OM2 in use, but very similar in hand. But I am sure the Pentax glass will shine, Jury is out on the Tokina 28 though.

I was a lucky recipient of a Pentax ME and lenses this weekend

Well it stayed dry and just had a local walk with a 24 roll of Kentmere Pan 100 to check for light leaks and exposure etc. Developing kit to the ready later or tomorrow night.

I was a lucky recipient of a Pentax ME and lenses this weekend

Through the usual friend of a friend route, I was offered and old and non working Pentax and some bits. What I received was a very nice ME Super, M series 50 1.7, Tokina 28. 2.8 and a Tokina 80-200 4 zoom. Quick clean, new batteries and the ME is up and running and works perfectly after its 20...

    Discarded Boat (2)

Nice image George. The one thing that messes with my head is such a dark sky and such an intense shadow thrown by the boat.

    Interesting pictures from Kazakhstan

Wow, quite a story alongside the pictures. Quite an emotional experience. So very glad for Andrey Khludeyev (the author and photographer) that he and his neighbour have recovered. Thank you for sharing the link.

    Time to reflect

Very late to comment, but just shown up on home page. What a cracking gentle image, very enjoyable. As to the cut off or not reflection, does not bother me and its not another reflection shot as it stands, I like your composition.

    First Film in 20 years...

Shot my first film in 20 years on a Pentax Spotmatic F and Takumar 55 f1.8 lens, It was so much fun to do, no chimping, no focus confirm etc. all back to basics. I didn't realise what I was missing, now have my OM2n in for service as intend to use it again. My 3 favourite shots from 1 roll of...

    Spiv Crossing

Shot at the 1940's event at Chatham Dockyard in 2019. I asked the chap to walk back and forth across the crossing, it was about the lines and cropped this way at taking. Judges hated it!

    Canoe in mist - Derwentwater

A very early morning October 2019, awoke to a thick mist and virtually ran to the lake. This chap obligingly paddled into view. This image has won several club competitions in the 2019/20 season, very pleased with it.

    Common Blue underwing

Rather like the way it is gently framed by the web strands, very enjoyable image indeed.
