100% horse meat in some Findus beef lasagne!

I do understand what you’re saying Tiler but can assure you (sadly!) that I am far from wealthy. I am thrifty though, adept at “cutting according to my cloth” and can make small amounts of cheap cuts of meat which are acceptable to me stretch a very long way. Committed carnivore or not, I...

100% horse meat in some Findus beef lasagne!

Something of a precocious child, I refused to eat processed meat or fish “products” at the age of 3 – the battles with my parents are still remembered as legendary by my relatives! I felt vindicated when the potential cause of vCJD came to light and my father (the gent who invented/discovered...

    Favourite method of Colour Correction

I tend to use the custom balance in Lightroom for anything that’s really “off” but worth keeping for the sake of a little tweak. I select the flash preset then hover the eye dropper tool over various portions of the shot until I get the effect I want (which I can see in the...

The official self portrait thread for everyone

Taken at the long end of my 75-300 on the beach in Cromer last week, very badly focused and funny white balance - me and Shadow paddling in the waves.

    Catch!

Indeed! He's a very treat-orientated dog and not determined about much else in life but I agree that he looks pretty avid in this shot

    Catch!

Got a couple of decent commissions on the strength of people seeing this one so I'm happy  Must make sure I'm well-armed with plenty of those miniature bonio things!

    Tracing a Foundling – Help!

As a newborn baby, my friend was dumped in a box on the steps of the hospital in Nairobi on 14th December 1963, two days after Kenya became independent. Had she been left there prior to independence she’d have been shipped over to the UK as an orphan. Had she been left there a couple of...

    Amy's smile

A lovely shot of a beautiful lady  What lens just out of interest?

    Catch!

Thank you very much for taking the time to look and comment :) I'm working on an uncalibrated rubbish laptop monitor and whilst I can see that it's quite well focused and sharp, I wondered whether it might be a little bit too dark or the white balance iffy.

    S'long Boris

Lovely colours and sharp detail, I like it a lot. I'm in Grimston so I guess that Boris must live just down the road from me now!

    Catch!

Thanks very much both :) Shadow is a very lazy Greyhound who spends most of his time upside down on the sofa - anyone's sofa! - so it's nice to grab a shot of him in action for once.

    British Summer

The irony - beautifully summed up and captured!
