Went to Howletts again a few weeks ago only to find that the last lion had died,(of old age), two weeks before my visit and that there was only one old tiger left.
Allegedly they are going to be transferring some of the lions from Port Lympne. There were doing a lot of work to the enclosures...
My first significant lens was my first bit of L glass from Canon. It was the 300mm F4 prime with IS. My first IS lens in fact.
Despite having higher res camera bodies now and owning 2 out of the top ten sharpest lenses on DXO, I still think the 300mm was the sharpest lens I have ever owned...
Raw for me as well. I like to experiment from time to time and raw gives me that option.
I sometimes use the auto function in Capture One for editing "snaps" to see if it's close to what I wanted,
It certainly was a Vanden Plas, Maybe a Austin Cambridge or Princess then. I was only 2 or 3 years old, over half a century ago, so memory might not 100%
My dad also one of those, in black, (as well as the beige Marina). I think his Minx was a "van der plas" I was forever getting told off for opening and closing the drinks tray in the back of his seat :)
I loved my a9. The only thing I wanted it to have was more resolution, (so long as it wasn't at the cost of speed), and a fully articulating rear screen.
Not really sure why the screen is important to me as I hardly ever use the blooming thing. Just always felt a little cheated that a modern...
