Mine has a Facebook group where they take a "pic of the week" from quite often. Now I'm wondering how many others are quietly snuck into the paper too. It's a free paper in a lot of areas but not all.
I was advised against this yesterday too so free images won't be happening. [emoji106]
I'll start looking into the IPTC fields post haste!
I'm a way off approaching papers which is exactly why I'm asking for you all to advise. Id rather get egg on my face by asking the question than by...
Oh yes. And had the email confirmed as still valid by someone. And spoken to them yesterday. Just waiting on my pli documents to photocopy and put with the form. That article was the best bit of info I was able to find anywhere so thank you very much for it!
Yes I'm very much trying to seperate work from hobby with my photography, my hobby is birds/animals and a bit of sport. But much sport access requires accreditation so there's a nice seperation of the two if I make it that far. But just enough overlap to keep the work interesting!
Well, that's...
Hi,
I am desperately trying to figure out if I need to have a license to use when offering sports images to local newspapers. Whether paid or not I assume I need to provide an editorial non-exclusive use license? If so, does anyone have A) any tips or advice and B) happen to have a template...
I almost mentioned this but wasn't 100% certain about the models. Sensor size falls between the bridge and crop DSLR too so a good compromise there as well.
I feel like this will come down to a decision about high iso noise and weight. Depending where you photograph will dictate if high iso is...
I've been trying to find out how to apply for a national League license through the national League and was planning to phone them. However, with the season cancelled I'm not even sure they'll have anyone manning the office and the same goes for local teams in the league. But at least I seem to...

I never said meant to be used by less capable photographers, I simply meant that the majority of images using them are by beginners who don't know how to get the best out of any camera which could be why they have the reputation/appearance of under performing...
Canon do a 24mm f2.8 pancake prime that's under £200. If you don't need the zoom range that's a better option imo. Could add a Canon 85mm f1.8 to the shopping list and still be cheaper than the 24-70 as well if you wanted something at that length.
I've been utterly unimpressed with most bridge camera images I've seen compared to similar images taken with gear like you have. I would use the money for a x1.4 teleconverter if you really want more reach, or just save your money and accept there's a limit to how close we can get without using...
I've had a sigma contemporary, Tamron G2, returned a Nikon 200-500 and just bought a battered 25 year old Nikon AF-S 300mm F2.8D ED and I'll give you zero guesses which one is miles sharper than the rest even with a tc-17ii on it.

May my bank...
If you're getting clipping it's one of two things. Bright areas or dark areas. Simply raise or lower your iso to compensate.
Obviously you could also adjust aperture and/or shutter speed, but it looks like they are fairly suitable for what you've shot.
New member here, I was wondering whether the information regarding non-league football grounds in the below stickied thread in this sub section (not allowed to post links yet!) remains valid as the thread seems to be 10 years old? I
I'm hoping to move into professional sports photography in the...
