Mac Mini's - with new apple chips?

Interesting. Typically an SSD would outlast your machine by decades in normal use. Of course swap and heat will be a factor in laptops. I'd still expect 10 year minimum. I remember going through this article with a friend...

Mac Mini's - with new apple chips?

I have the M1 MBA. Interal speeds are around 2800MB/S read and write. My Intel NVME drive in a Plugable USB-C caddy is around 700-800MB/s read and write. My 2015 MacBook Pro is a pitiful 400MB/s read and write

    Sony RX100

I have a problem with my RX100 now. It seems it won't read any of the memory cards I put in it. I can get it to read some of them if I physically hold the card a certainly but mostly it's just not happy. I imagine repairing the card reader (though it actually presents more like a software issue)...

    Three more new Nikon cameras

Glad I bought an RX100 IV to tide me over. Still want a DL though

    Sony RX100

Got my RX100 IV a couple of days ago but somehow seem to already have a a very light scratch on the rear. No idea how it happened. It hasn't been out of the house. Having an A7 already makes it a breeze to use, though it might only be a stop gap until the Nikon DL 24-85 comes out in June.

    Three more new Nikon cameras

I don't see the zoom as annoying though as anyone who's got a DSLR zoom is unlikely to have had a powered zoom function anyway.

    GoPro's .... or another

A gimbal won't stop vibration though, so beware of that. Especially if she attaches it to the bike instead of herself.

    Three more new Nikon cameras

I like the look of the 18-50 and 24-85. Seem like they could be RX100 killers. I've just ordered an RX100 IV but will switch to one of these depending on reviews when they come out. After owning a Sony A7 and AS100 I really dislike Sony as brand when it comes to support and looking after their...

    Nikon DL range

A while back Nikon announced their DL range of (premium compact) cameras that include an 18-50, and 24-85 equivalent. Not seen any talk of them here. Personally I've had my eye on a Sony RX100, but I've been wanting to move away from Sony products for a variety of reasons. The two smaller DL...

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

Good spot. I accept that. They certainly weren't saying that at it's launch though.

    That is probably most accurate.

The Amazing Sony A1/A7/A9/APS-C & Anything else welcome Mega Thread!

I don't put it in any line up. It's just a camera. The A7, A7R and A7S are all about the same level of features as far as i'm concerned. Different features, but a similar level. Sony do have Pro support though. And of course the A7R, A7ii, A7s don't have 'pro' AF, and even the nearly £3k A7RII...

Ah. That's fair enough. I do agree they should have lens range where the 28/2 and the 28-70, 24-240 sit. A slightly better range where the 35/2.8, 55/1.4, and 24-70 (debatable) sit Then the top of the range where the 35/1.4 etc.. might sit

In terms of entry level. Entry level is about specs. I that regard, the A7 is at the same or similar level as the A7R or A7S. No-one says the R1 is an entry level sports bike because it's priced lower than the BMW S1000RR
