    Image stabilisation

Thanks for all the replies. Maybe getting a Z lens with VR would do the trick. Must say that when I look at all the Nikon gear I’ve accrued the thought of swapping systems is a bit daunting but if it really was going to provide me with more assurance ……I will try the increased ISO.

    Image stabilisation

I currently have a Nikon Z6ii with a couple of Z lenses, the FTXZ adapter and a couple of FX lenses. I enjoy using the camera but as age and an increasingly shaky hold make image stabilisation not just a nice extra but essential for me. I wondered, therefore, if there is a camera system with...

    Which system

AndrewC, My idea is to take each member of my family in a context/situation where they feel comfortable and which says something about them. I was inspired to do this following a visit to Bradford a couple of years ago during which we visited a photo exhibition in the cathedral by the he...

Juggler, Many thanks for your suggestions - that all looks fantastic but somewhat beyond my budget, I'm afraid.

    Which system

I am planning to take portraits of individual members of my family. These will be informal and having them set in a context of being amongst or doing something that reflects their interests/hobbies/lifestyle. I was inspired by seeing an exhibition in Bradford Cathedral a couple of years ago by...

    Research overload

Many thanks for the replies. Can’t help but be drawn to full frame even ‘though my Olympus will print to A3. I suppose it’s about wanting the best possible image quality, dynamic range, good bokeh etc.

    Research overload

For travel and street stuff I very happily use an Olympus E-M1 Mkii. I’m now in the market for something to use on a tripod for landscape. macro and a bit of portrait work. I’m drawn to full frame and like to print keepers up to A3. I have a budget of around £1,500 for camera and lens(es) and...

    FX or Z lenses

I’ve just bought a Nikon Z5 with an FTZ ii adapter. I have a few FX lenses but wonder if I would I notice an improvement in image quality with Z lenses from the FX lenses with adapter? Any thoughts gratefully received.

    Used question

When considering buying a used Nikon D800e from a reputable source I find myself struggling with the following question. The camera in question is tagged as excellent but with a shutter count of 115,000. In contention is also a Nikon D610 for less money but tagged as like new and a much lower...

    Image stabilisation

Ah, yes, somehow didn’t consider a monopod. No real consensus yet re- weight/size of camera but many thanks for your thoughts.

    Image stabilisation

With advancing years my hand and arm stability when holding a camera has decreased. I use an Olympus E-M1 Mkii with good IS but am finding that, especially with longer lenses such as the 40-150 the unsteadiness may be beginning to override the IS of the camera. I wondered therefore if a heavier...
